Cardwell is designed to compare credit-card features without collecting the sensitive information used in a card application.
Information we do not request
Do not send Cardwell your Social Security number, full date of birth, card or account numbers, banking credentials, tax identifiers, passwords, or other authentication secrets. Cardwell does not process card applications or make credit decisions.
Questionnaire information
The website questionnaire uses broad preferences such as spending category, annual-fee preference, travel frequency, and reward style. These answers are processed in your browser session and are not intentionally sent to Cardwell analytics or shared with card issuers. When Cardwell is used through ChatGPT, OpenAI may process the conversation under its own terms and privacy policy, and Cardwell receives only the information needed to run the requested comparison.
Technical information and analytics
Our hosting, security, and analytics providers may process limited technical and interaction data such as IP address, request time, browser information, page views, selected recommendation path, result views, link clicks, optional helpful-or-not feedback, and error logs. Cardwell does not send individual questionnaire answers or sensitive financial information to analytics. We use this limited data to operate, secure, measure, and improve the service.
Sharing and selling
Cardwell does not sell personal information. Limited technical data may be handled by service providers that host, secure, or operate the service, or disclosed when required by law. Cardwell does not share questionnaire answers with card issuers in order to generate a recommendation.
Children, geography, and changes
Cardwell is intended for adults researching U.S. credit cards and is not directed to children. We may update this policy as the service changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
